Hello, strangers!
With summer (sadly) coming to an end soon, I’ve been diving back into vector illustrations, especially seasonal and holiday-related vector illustrations. I plan to upload a whole batch to iStockphoto tonight, but as I was putting the finishing touches on a new illustration, I got distracted by this new gadget:
When I create illustrations, I almost always start with a pencil sketch in my trusty Moleskine. Then I scan the sketch and bring it into Illustrator and work from there. I don’t mind that process, but looking at the Inkling by Wacom, it looks like I could skip that scanning step. Not only could I skip that scanning step, but I could sketch on paper and bring the sketches into Illustrator as vectors already. This opens up a whole bunch of new possibilities. I read that the Inkling comes out in the second half of September. I have to say I’m intrigued.
